CH3000 Universal Chassis

The model CH3000 is Aurora Networks' advanced mid-plane, 3RU chassis design, which offers the network operator a platform featuring maximum flexibility, high packaging density and simplicity of operation. The CH3000 is ideal for all types of optical networks, single wavelength, CWDM or DWDM, and for both Analog and Digital transmission techniques.

The CH3000 incorporates the unique combination of two patented design features, the midplane platform concept and dynamic back plates on all active modules. The mid-plane provides the DC power bus, the universal communications bus (supporting local and remote SNMP management) and facilitates the installation of modules from either the front or the rear of the chassis. Dynamic back plates simplify pre-wiring of the chassis; module replacement can be accomplished from the front of the chassis without disconnecting/reconnecting cables at the back of the chassis. The combination of mid-plane platform design and the dynamic back plate feature on all active modules makes the CH3000 the industry's most flexible, configurable and future-proof platform for traditional HFC, passive HFC and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.

The CH3000 also features a very high packaging density design accommodating a wide variety of both active and passive modules. Modules, depending on function performed, are either half platform depth or full platform depth and single or dual width. The CH3000 accepts up to 32 half-depth passive modules or 14 full-depth active modules and a power supply module or configurations combining the use of both full-depth and half-depth modules. The high packaging density and configuration flexibility make the CH3000 ideal for both Headend and Hub applications where rack space is at a premium.

The CH3000 is available in two configurations: Model CH3000C with top and bottom decorative covers and Model CH3000N without the top and bottom decorative covers. An optional fiber management adapter and fiber routing shelf accessories are also available.

Product Features

•  3RU stackable without spacer requirement
•  Mid-plane supports power and management system
•  All slots are identical: any combination of modules can be installed in any slot
•  Up to 14 active full-depth modules and one power supply

Aurora offers two fiber management accessories for the model CH3000 chassis, Aurora Networks' advanced mid-plane, 3RU chassis design which offers the network operator a platform featuring maximum flexibility, high packaging density and simplicity of operation. Either accessory can be used by itself, or both accessories can be used in tandem to provide complete fiber management for the chassis.

The CH3000U-FM-00 Fiber Management Adapter mounts to the rear of the chassis using fastening hardware that is provided with the adapter and, after attachment, extends an additional 1RU (1.75") below the bottom of the chassis frame.

The CH3000U-FM-01 Fiber Routing Shelf is not directly connected to the chassis. Instead it occupies a 1RU space in the rack below the 3RU chassis, and provides rigid support for fiber cables that may be routed from the front to the rear of the rack for some types of modules, or simply as a convenient storage shelf for excessive cable lengths.

Product Features

•  Two fiber management accessories for the CH3000 advanced mid-plane    3RU chassis:
   •  Rear-mounted Fiber Management Adapter (CH3000U-FM-00)
   •  Fiber Routing Shelf (CH3000U-FM-01)

Aurora Network's model PF3000 3RU frame can be populated with up to 16 passive (unpowered) modules. This frame offers the network operator a simple platform with maximum flexibility and high packaging density for installation of all passive networking components such as muxes, demuxes and splitters.

The PF3000 features a very high packaging density design accommodating a wide variety of passive modules. Modules, depending on function performed, are either half platform depth or full platform depth. The PF3000 accepts up to 16 half- or full-depth passive modules or configurations combining the use of both half- and full-depth modules. The high packaging density and configuration flexibility make the PF3000 ideal for both Headend and Hub applications where rack space is at a premium.

The model PF3000N-FM-00 4RU frame offers all the advantages of the PF3000, and adds a fiber management tray for routing, organizing and further protecting fiber optic cabling, while the model PF3000C-FM-00 4RU frame provides further protection with a tinted Plexiglass front cover.

Half-width (8-chassis-slot) and full-width (16-chassis-slot) patch panels are available for all models of passive module frames. Half-width patch panels seat 24 or 72 standard SC/APC (BC1001-AS) or SC/UPC (BC1001-US) bulkhead adapters, while full-width patch panels seat 48 or 144 adapters. Patch panels may be ordered with or without the bulkhead adapters (which include integrated safety shutters) already pre-installed.

Product Features

•  PF3000 frame is 3RU stackable without spacer requirement
•  Up to 16 passive modules per frame
•  Fiber management tray available with 4RU models PF3000N-FM-00 (no front    cover) and PF3000C-FM-00 (with tinted Plexiglass front cover)
•  Optional half-width and full-width patch panels seat from 24 to 144 standard    SC/APC and SC/UPC bulkhead adapters (BC1001-AS and BC1001-US)
