Aurora Networks Eyes Global Opportunities with New Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Pirjo Tuomi to lead Aurora Networks' sales growth

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Feb. 8, 2010 - Aurora Networks, Inc., the only optical transport solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services, today announced that Pirjo Tuomi has joined the company as vice president of worldwide sales.

Tuomi, who has 20 years experience working with telecom and cable equipment companies around the world including Vello Systems, BigBand Networks and Nortel, will lead Aurora Networks' global sales efforts. Aurora Networks supports cable operators worldwide as they evolve their networks for the delivery of advanced services available today and tomorrow. The company has customers in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Key Details:

• Most recently, Tuomi served as senior vice president, worldwide sales and field operations, for Vello Systems, a provider of optical transport and DWDM technologies. Vello serves customers in cable, telecom and enterprise segments.


• Previously, Tuomi was senior vice president, worldwide sales, at BigBand Networks, a provider of triple-play solutions to cable and telecom operators. Before BigBand acquired ADC's cable-focused product line, Tuomi was vice president, product marketing management, at ADC. Tuomi started at BAS as vice president of worldwide sales. She also held management positions with Nortel, ICL Data/Nokia Data and Finnish Telecom, now Telia Sonera.
