SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Dec. 14, 2009 - Aurora Networks, Inc., the only optical transport solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services, today named Don Gardina director of sales, West U.S. Region. Besides assisting cable operators with their continuing development of residential services, Gardina will help them evolve their networks to take advantage of the growing, cable-addressable market for commercial services.
Gardina, a cable industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience with cable networks and fiber optic transport solutions, reports to David Lang, Aurora Networks' vice president of sales for the U.S. regional market.
"As cable operators expand beyond their traditional residential customers, they are considering growth options with a developing slate of commercial offerings, including support for cell tower backhaul and ultra-fast broadband connections for enterprises of all sizes," said Lang. "Don's knowledge of the cable and broadband industry, coupled with his expertise on how operators can evolve their networks for next-generation services, makes him a strong fit for our team."
Before joining Aurora Networks, Gardina was senior sales director at Harmonic, where he utilized his experience and knowledge to generate sales successes for the company. Before joining Harmonic, Gardina worked at Hewlett-Packard, conducting business and sales development for the company's cable measurement solutions marketed in the Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions.
"Aurora Networks has a strong reputation throughout the industry for its exclusive focus on cost-effective, future-proof network solutions for cable operators. With cable operators expanding their offerings to include commercial services, I look forward to working with Aurora Networks as the company helps cable operators take the next big steps in their evolution," said Gardina.
