Aurora Networks to Showcase Evolving Cable Solutions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2009
Optical transport leader to display Fiber Deep, RFoG, RFPON, commercial services, cell tower backhaul and segmentation solutions along with NC2000 node platform; Company to participate in SCTE Green Pavilion
Santa Clara, Calif. - Sept. 23, 2009 - Aurora Networks, Inc., the only optical transport solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services, will showcase its industry proven Fiber Deep, commercial services and segmentation solutions, as well as RFPON devices, a complete cell tower backhaul solution and its new NC2000 node for the U.S. market, at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2009, booth #10096. The Expo takes place Oct. 28-30 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
Aurora Networks' show theme, "Evolution Not Revolution," emphasizes the company's efforts to deliver cable operators future-proof solutions that allow for a rapid and cost-effective transition from traditional HFC plant to the all-IP world of the future. In addition to that push, the Expo's SCTE Green Pavilion will showcase Aurora Networks' environmentally-sound solutions for the cable industry. The pavilion will feature companies, such as Aurora Networks, that are offering energy-saving products and technologies that can be placed within a cable company's operating infrastructure.
"Along with assessing the environmental impact of their networks, cable operators are focusing on the bottom line. The cable industry needs solutions that enable them to meet their subscribers' demands, save money and also deliver 'green' results," said John Dahlquist, vice president of marketing, Aurora Networks. "Our evolving cable offerings help operators achieve these goals with solutions that can meet future needs and also maximize the strength of their networks."
Aurora Networks' solutions at the Expo include:
Go green with Fiber Deep - Aurora Networks' Fiber Deep solution is designed to ensure successful green strategies for cable operators along with meeting the increasing need for more bandwidth. By reducing the number of actives and power supplies in the network, Fiber Deep enables cable operators to achieve cost savings as well as a significant reduction in energy consumption while pushing fiber closer to the customer.
Industry-leading RFoG and RFPON solutions - The company's RFoG and RFPON (RFoG plus PON) solutions enable cable operators to take advantage of FTTP architectures, incorporating unique components to overcome the deployment limitations associated with more traditional approaches, while providing a seamless migration for the inclusion of PON services.
NC2000 node platform - The NC2000 is a segmentable, wall or cabinet mounting node platform incorporating Aurora Networks' field-proven digital return and virtual hub (VHub) technologies. Given its size and capabilities, the NC2000 optical node is the perfect technology for the MDU market as well as cable operators serving low-density, rural markets.
Segmentation solutions - Node segmentation is the first step many cable operators take when expanding network capacity. Segmentation is enabled by WDM technologies, such as CWDM, DWDM and LcWDM®. Aurora Networks' WDM technology and the company’s scalable node platforms allow cable operators to easily and cost-effectively expand their networks.
Supporting cable's cell tower backhaul opportunity - Aurora Networks' complete solution will enable cable operators to build the technical foundation required for cost-competitive cell tower backhaul support. The solution meets or surpasses mobile industry standards for quality and reliability.
Grow revenue-generating commercial services - Aurora Networks' GEPON solution is designed to optimize revenue-generating services offered in commercial settings. The company's award-winning Node PON solution and its suite of access barrier breaking solutions, when combined with its VHub, bring the highest level of flexibility and utilization that can be found in a next-generation architecture.
Also at Cable-Tec Expo, Aurora Networks' Chairman, President and CEO Guy Sucharczuk will moderate two panels, both taking place Thursday, Oct. 29. The first panel, "Leveraging the Optical Network for Services Growth," takes place at 9:30 a.m. The second panel moderated by Sucharczuk, "The Heart of the Cable Network: Migrating from HFC to FTTH - If and When," is scheduled for 11 a.m.
