Aurora Networks Expands U.S. Sales Team
Senior industry veterans charged with addressing growing demand for Aurora Networks' solutions in U.S.
CableNET 2009, D.C. April 2, 2009 Aurora Networks Inc., the only optical transport solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services, has announced the appointment of two key members to its U.S. sales team. Northeast Director of U.S. Regional Market Sales, Ed Kopakowski, and Western U.S. Market Regional Account Manager, Richard Olson, will both report to David Lang, Aurora Networks' vice president of sales for the U.S. regional market.
"Both Ed Kopakowski and Richard Olson bring extensive broadband sales experience to Aurora Networks' U.S. team, and will undoubtedly be major contributors in achieving Aurora Networks' revenue growth and customer support goals," said Lang. "Aurora Networks is committed to providing its new and existing customers with the most innovative, yet cost-effective, solutions to ensure the cable industry's position as the dominant triple-play service provider."
Kopakowski brings nearly 30 years of experience in worldwide sales operations and marketing to Aurora Networks, with a heavy focus on the fiber optic and cable markets. Most recently with Pacific Broadband Networks, Kopakowski has led national sales teams for companies including C-Cor, Sony and General Instrument Corporation.
With more than 25 years working with corporate, regional and systems engineering, Olson brings an inherent understanding of cable operations to Aurora Networks. Prior to joining the company, he held management positions with C-Cor, Falcon Holding Group and TCI.
"The addition of industry veterans to our team allows us to further strengthen our relationship with the U.S. cable market to meet the growing interest for our Fiber Deep, RFoG, RFPON and other innovative solutions," said Mike Sparkman, vice president of worldwide sales for Aurora Networks.
The expanded U.S. sales team is expected to address increasing demand from MSOs across the country for Fiber Deep solutions to compete more effectively with alternative service providers, direct-to-home satellite, and telcos in the delivery of advanced services. Delivering significant benefits, including 500 percent more downstream and 1,000 percent more upstream bandwidth, Aurora Networks' Fiber Deep architecture is the widely adopted solution among MSOs who need reliable, innovative, bandwidth-scaling transport products.
