Fiber Deep Demand Drives Aurora Networks Growth
Increasing cable operator demand and sales success for Fiber Deep solution
sparks move to larger location
SANTA CLARA, Calif. Jan. 29, 2009 Aurora Networks, the only solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized launch pad for next-generation cable services, today announced that continued strong customer demand and the sales success of its Fiber Deep solution have driven the company's relocation to new facilities, increasing its capacity by more than 100 percent. With more than 61,000 square feet, the new location enables Aurora Networks to extend its product development and services capabilities to support a growing customer base.
Demand for deployment of Fiber Deep solutions is a growing trend in the cable industry. Aurora Networks' unique Fiber Deep architecture is the widely adopted solution to meet this demand. Delivering significant benefits, including 500 percent more downstream and 1,000 percent more upstream bandwidth, Aurora Networks' solution enables cable operators to compete more effectively against alternative service providers, direct-to-home satellite, and telcos in the delivery of advanced services. In addition, Aurora Networks' Fiber Deep solution reduces OPEX by 65 percent, including a 50 percent saving in system power, compared to competing market solutions. This advanced Fiber Deep architecture, combined with Aurora Networks' industry leadership, R&D programs, and innovative approach to cable solutions, are the key drivers for the company's expansion.
"Despite the current state of the economy, Aurora Networks has continued to experience growth by providing innovative solutions and best-in-class service to exceed our customers' needs," said Guy Sucharczuk, chairman, president and CEO of Aurora Networks. "MSOs who need cost-effective, reliable, bandwidth-scaling transport products rely on Aurora Networks' optical transport solutions to optimize the balance between bandwidth needs and revenue-generating subscriber services. Our commitment to the cable industry has supported our consistent growth, which proves that we are the preferred solution in the industry."
With this move, Aurora Networks will have more than doubled its production capacity with the expanded manufacturing areas. In addition, the areas dedicated to optical design laboratories and equipment, headend and hub hot system and demonstration areas, and related test and instrumentation labs have also been extended, complementing the on-site manufacturing capabilities for burn-in and testing. Aurora Networks' new headquarters is located at 5400 Betsy Ross Drive, Santa Clara, Calif., 95054.
