Overview
The applications and architectural designs to which Aurora Networks' products may be put to effective use - and for which they provide distinct advantages over any alternative - are, quite simply, almost without limit. From traditional designs for optical transport to solutions for residential access and commercial services, Aurora offers a complete array of products to implement the networks of today and tomorrow.
Whether consolidating headends and eliminating hubs, progressively segmenting service areas into smaller and smaller sizes, adding Video on Demand or RFoG capabilities to a new or existing network, or simply building or upgrading traditional HFC or Fiber Deep networks, Aurora has the breadth and depth of products needed for your optical transmission needs.
And when the time comes to extend service offerings with residential access solutions or commercial services, you will find Aurora is already there with a comprehensive inventory of needed equipment.
Aurora's advanced access network solutions for the home include our Fiber on Demand™ approach (bringing fiber to the home on a case-by-case basis only when the demand is justified and featuring any of Aurora's line of SMART Media Converter™ CPE devices), RFPON and Node PON™ strategies (both featuring the Gigabit Ethernet GE4132M "Node PON" module that can also be installed in optical node platforms for HFC, Fiber Deep and "5G Node™" applications).
For larger enterprise networks in the commercial, municipal, educational and comparable sectors, Aurora stands ready to help with offerings for both networks that require integration of data transmission with standard broadcast/narrowcast video signals and those that may be implemented as data networks only, including point-to-point solutions and various wide area network (WAN) deployments. We are also at the forefront of offering support to cable systems operators with solutions for cell tower backhaul applications. Aurora's GT3410A T1/E1 Access Module (that may be installed in either 3RU chassis at the headend or hub or a 1RU chassis at the customers' premises) is a key component of both the point-to-point and cell backhaul applications discussed on this web site. In fact Aurora's T1/E1 access solution is a class apart from existing pseudo-wire implementations and is the only solution in the marketplace as of May 2009 that has achieved all three Metro Ethernet Forum certifications (MEF-9, MEF-14 and MEF-18) for both T1 and E1 interfaces.
