OP9xS2S Series
Optical Splitters / Combiners

Enlarged Photo (94k)

Aurora Networks' OP9xS2S series splitters and combiners have been designed with high uniformity, low insertion loss and polarization dependent loss. The product family of modules includes 1x2 and 2x2 splitters/combiners with balanced (50/50) outputs, and several varieties of both 1x2 and 2x2 splitters/combiners with unbalanced outputs (with split ratios ranging from 55/45 to 99/1). All modules are offered with optional SC/APC type connectors.

The splitters/combiners are available in two versions of packaging for outdoor use, one version ruggedized for easy handling and the second version, though not ruggedized, being smaller and easier to fit in a splice enclosure. Both versions are designed for use in an outdoor environment within a temperature range of -40° to +85°C.

Features

•  Low insertion loss
•  Dual operating wavelength windows (1310nm and 1550nm)
•  Operating temperature range –40° to +85°C
•  Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 qualified, providing excellent environmental
    and mechanical stability
•  Variety of options for module body robustness, fiber jacket and
    connector types
•  Epoxy-free on optical path

OP95F1S Series
Single-channel DWDM Optical Filters

Enlarged Photo (36k)

Aurora Networks OP95F1S series Single-channel DWDM Optical Filters have been designed with low insertion and polarization dependent losses. These three-port filters are used to add (or drop) a single DWDM narrowcast wavelength to (or from) a set of DWDM optical wavelengths.

The filters are available in two versions of packaging for outdoor use, one version ruggedized for easy handling and the second version, though not ruggedized, being smaller and easier to fit in a splice enclosure. Both versions are designed for use in an outdoor environment within a temperature range of –40° to +85°C.

Features

•  Low insertion loss
•  Operating temperature range –40° to +85°C
•  Selection of supported narrowcast channels on standard 200 GHz DWDM
    ITU Grid
•  High channel isolation to minimize crosstalk
•  Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 qualified, providing excellent environmental
    and mechanical stability
•  Variety of options for module body robustness, fiber jacket and
    connector types
•  Epoxy-free on optical path

OP91M2x Series
1310nm/1550nm Optical Mux Modules

Enlarged Photo (127k)

Aurora's OP91M2x family of 1310/1550nm mux units, in typical applications, accepts input signals at 1310nm and 1550nm, multiplexing them to produce a common output signal to the fiber network.

These modules may also be used in bi-directional applications for counter-propagating 1310nm and 1550nm signals. In such cases, for example, a downstream 1550nm signal might enter the unit at the COM port and exit from the 1550 port to continue downstream. Conversely, 1310nm return signals enter the 1310 port and continue upstream through the COM port, utilizing the same single fiber for bi-directional transmission.

These modules may also be easily mounted in the fiber tray of an optical node such as Aurora’s VH4000 Virtual Hub.

Features

•  1310/1550nm multiplexers with SC/APC connectors
•  Supports both forward and return path transmission of analog and digital
    signals
•  Low insertion loss and PDL
•  Operating temperature range –40° to +85°C
•  Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 qualified, providing excellent environmental
    and mechanical stability
•  Epoxy-free on optical path
