DX3515
Digital Transponders
(2.125 Gbps on DWDM ITU Grid)

Enlarged Photo (61k)

The DX3515 Digital Transponder is a high bit rate capacity (2.125 Gbps) optical converter.

This device allows a non–wavelength specific (1300 to 1600 nm) optical transmission to be shifted to a wavelength on the standard DWDM ITU Grid (ITU-T G694.1, with 100 GHz channel spacing).

This unit is a bit–rate and protocol transparent device that supports any OC3, OC12 or OC48 as well as single and dual fiber channel, and single and dual Gigabit Ethernet.

Features

•  Optical wavelength converter
•  Receiver type 2R (receive and retransmit)
•  Any communications wavelength input
•  1550nm DWDM ITU-grid output
•  Bit rate range 155 Mbps to 2.125 Gbps
•  Protocol transparent; supports:
    •  Single and dual Gigabit Ethernet
    •  Single and dual fiber channel
    •  Data rates of OC3 to OC48
•  Front panel laser On/Off interlock switch
•  Hot plug in/out
