Aurora Networks Showcases Innovative Bandwidth Expansion Tools in Beijing at CCBN 2008
Santa Clara, CA March 19, 2008 On March 21-23, Aurora Networks,
a global leader in advanced optical transport systems for broadband networks, will
showcase best-fit network solutions and products which enable cable operators to
cost-effectively increase their network capacity in Beijing at the China Content
Broadcasting Network’s (CCBN) 16th Annual Conference. CCBN is the world's largest
exhibition of DTV and broadband network industries and China's only international
exhibition of broadcast, cable and satellite technology and equipment.
Key demonstrations at Aurora’s booth &2307 include:
Aurora’s GEPON solution, based on its industry-leading node
technology, which is optimized for deployment in cable TV networks
to enable a seamless migration to an FTTH network
Fiber-efficient node segmentation using Aurora’s LcWDM™ solution
which provides up to eight downstream and 20 upstream segments
on just one fiber.
"Given the advanced technical nature of Aurora’s products, we are
committed to providing our customers with clear and concise product information. We
applaud the award-winning efforts of Ed Perry, Elizabeth Labine, Dave Sell and Vince
Swanson," said John Dahlquist, Vice President of Marketing.
"Aurora has a compelling portfolio of optical solutions designed
specifically for cable operators to increase network capacity," said John Dahlquist,
Aurora’s vice president of marketing. "In this advanced market, where the demand
for bandwidth is fierce, Aurora is uniquely qualified to architect flexible, reliable
and cost-effective high-bandwidth optical transport systems that enable broadband service
providers to increase capacity for the coming generation of bandwidth-intensive
entertainment, information and communication services."
At the heart of Aurora’s GEPON solution is the GE4132M Node PON module.
This enables delivery of 1,000 Mbps Ethernet - over fiber - interfacing with up to 64
standard GEPON Optical Network Units (ONUs). Housed in Aurora’s NC4000 node platform,
it enables cable operators to selectively and seamlessly upgrade all or part of their
network to FTTH once justified by their revenue streams.
Aurora’s LcWDM™ technology is an 'O'-band wavelength
division multiplexing system which was introduced in 2006. This has evolved to an
eight wavelength system which provides a cost-effective way to segment an existing node
service area up to eight times over distances up to 30 kilometers without using additional
fibers. The transmitters can be combined with Aurora’s NC4000 Scalable Node Platform to
increase network capacity to meet the bandwidth demands of HDTV, VoIP, VOD and high speed
data services.
Members of the media are invited to schedule private demonstrations at CCBN
2008 by contacting Tom Weldon at Aurora’s booth &2307.
