Aurora Networks’ LcWDM™ Transmitters Earn Accolades from MSO Execs, Net Third 3.5 Diamond Technology Review

Santa Clara, CA — June 12, 2007 — For the third consecutive year, a new solution by Aurora Networks has earned a 3.5 Diamond review by an independent panel of executives from leading multiple systems operators (MSOs). Judged on its ability to increase revenue and reduce network operational expenses, Aurora’s 1 GHz Low cost Wave Division Multiplexing (LcWDM) Transmitter earned the 3.5 Diamond rating during a product evaluation conducted for Broadband Report’s 2007 Technology Reviews.

"Our review panel pulled no punches with their product evaluation, and the LcWDM Transmitter has certainly captured the respect of these industry leaders," said Tim Hermes, publisher of Broadband Gear Report.

Aurora’s LcWDM transmitters provide a cost effective way to segment an existing node service area up to six times over distances up to 25 kilometers without using additional fibers or expensive externally modulated or DWDM transmitters. The transmitters can be combined with Aurora’s NC4000 Scalable Node Platform to increase network capacity to meet the bandwidth demands of HDTV, VoIP, VOD and high speed data services. Given its capabilities, Aurora’s segmentation solution is ideal for fiber-starved areas and can support six to eight forward segments and 24 reverse segments on a single fiber. The transmitters feature 46 to 1002 MHz RF bandwidth and dual RF broadcast/narrowcast input ports with AGC.

"With Aurora’s LcWDM Transmitters, cable operators can quickly, easily and affordably meet subscriber demand when and where it emerges. It truly is a pay-as-you-grow solution," said John Dahlquist, vice president of marketing for Aurora Networks.

Aurora Networks will showcase its complete line of 1 GHz LcWDM transmitters at the Cable-Tec Expo in Orlando, Florida on June 20-22 in booth 2073. In addition, the technology will be featured in the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo print edition of Broadband Gear Report. For more information on this innovative solution, visit www.aurora.com.
