Aurora Networks Enables Enhanced Network Monitoring and Management with
New Release of Opti-Trace Products
Santa Clara, CA June 9, 2005 Aurora Networks, a global leader
in advanced optical transport systems for broadband networks, announced major new releases
of its Opti-Trace product suite of monitoring and management software applications for the
Aurora Network Management System. These include Opti-Trace CMS, which provides direct local
monitoring and management of all modules in the CH3000 Chassis, Opti-Trace OTS, which
provides remote monitoring and management of all modules in the CH3000 Chassis via Ethernet,
and Opti-Trace EMS, which provides remote monitoring and management of optical nodes via
Ethernet as well as provisioning Ethernet services.
Opti-Trace Version 5.0 expands support for several additional modules that may
be installed in Aurora's award-winning VH4000 Virtual Hub including FA4500 series optical
amplifiers, OS42S1S Optical Switches, DX4515 Digital Transponders, OP4538 Optical Narrowcast
Demux with BC/NC Combiner, and an OE4130S Ethernet monitoring transceiver. Opti-Trace now
also supports several new DT4000 series Digital Transceivers that may be installed in NC4000
series optical nodes. In addition, upgrades to firmware in DR3x21 series Digital Receivers in
the headend chassis enable them to work with the new digital transceivers in the nodes to
support cluster segmentation.
These new releases continue Aurora's tradition of engineering Opti-Trace
products that provide reliable, convenient and comprehensive management with open standard
TCP/IP SNMP support. Each Opti-Trace product features built-in, all-digital node monitoring
that eliminates costly status monitoring transponders; unique one-click broadcast/narrowcast
level balancing; effortless Ethernet provisioning; and advanced node daisy-chain support with
automatic network discovery. In addition, Aurora’s Opti-Trace products help localize network
faults with Web-based management, telnet and Email/pager support, are compliant with ANSI/SCTE
38-2 2002 (formerly SCTE HMS 063), and integrate with other third-party network management
system packages.
Product Demonstrations at Cable-Tec Expo
Aurora will demonstrate the innovative capabilities of its new Opti-Trace products at
Cable-Tec Expo in San Antonio between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 15 and 16 in booth 4107.
