Aurora’s Outdoor Wi-Fi Access Delivery System separates associated backhaul technology from 802.11-compliant radios, enabling cable operators to deliver commercial services to millions of small and midsized businesses (SMB) that were previously inaccessible via aerial/underground coaxial cable or fiber due to the capital investment, regulatory considerations or landlord restrictions.

The enhanced Aurora Virtual Hub Platform (VHub) featuring field-hardened DWDM optical passives, EDFAs and optical switches, expands existing HFC networks without additional fiber, enabling multiple system operators (MSOs) to deliver the triple play of voice, video and data services in areas that were previously cost-prohibitive or fiber-constrained.

Aurora’s CWDM Ethernet Access System featuring SMART Media Converter™ technology provides MSOs with operational, administration and maintenance (OAM) management capabilities that were previously available only for enterprise-class Ethernet networks. The system includes MC2401B and MC1401B series SMART Media Converter™ modules that feature IEEE 802.3ah OAM, remote IP-less CPE management for streamlined plug-and-play deployments, remote loopback, RMON statistics and remote CPE environmental monitoring.
