Aurora Networks Appoints Gary Testa Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Extensive International and Telecom Background Strengthen Sales Leadership
Santa Clara, CA. April 7, 2004 Aurora Networks, a leading
developer and manufacturer of advanced optical transport systems for broadband networks,
announced today that Gary Testa has joined the company as Vice President, Worldwide Sales.
Testa will be responsible for expanding and leading Aurora’s sales operations in North
America and throughout the world.
"Gary brings leadership, vision and first-hand knowledge of the
international telecom market to the Aurora sales team," said Guy Sucharczuk,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Networks. "His dynamic style,
extensive high-tech start-up experience, and proven track record for growing revenues
in new markets will help us to continue the expansion of our sales efforts throughout
the world. Gary will focus initially on expanding Aurora’s North American sales presence,
and next on growing Aurora’s channel partners and direct sales team around the globe."
Testa was most recently SVP, Sales and Marketing for Gluon Networks, Inc.
where he helped develop and introduce one of the first next-generation CLASS 5 switching
and access products to telcos and cable companies throughout North America. He previously
held VP sales positions with venture-backed technology startups including Quintessent
Communcations and ObjectStream, and spent over 10 years in Europe, operating his own IT
consulting practice and with Harris Corporation. Testa’s primary focus has been building
and leading sales teams for aggressive revenue growth in new markets with cutting-edge
technology.
"I’m very excited to have the opportunity to join the experienced team
here at Aurora," said Testa. "Aurora’s fiber-deep Passive HFC technology and
fiber-to-the-premise technologies are exactly what the MSO and telco customers are asking
for as they drive higher bandwidth services into residences and businesses. I’m particularly
excited about Aurora’s new Wi-Fi products as these will enable us to help our customers
achieve wider and faster customer penetration at less cost than they have been able to achieve
in the past. My primary challenge will be to grow the team to meet the growing demand we are
seeing globally for our products."
